What are the Observed Holidays for the Futures Market?

On Friday 4/3/26, the CME has a scheduled Market Holiday in observance of Good Friday.

Each product type may have a different close time. More information can be found below as well as a link to the CME Group Holiday Calendar.

Good Friday Scheduled Close dates/times per Product Group:

  • Interest Rates: Friday, 4/3 close at 10:15am CT
  • Energy: Thursday, 4/2 close at 4pm CT (normal close time on Thursday) - does not re-open for Friday, 4/3 trade day
  • Equities: Friday, 4/3 close at 8:15am CT
  • Grains: Thursday, 4/2 close at 1:30 pm CT (normal close time on Thursday) - does not re-open for Friday, 4/3 trade day
  • FX: Friday, 4/3 close at 10:15am CT
  • Metals: Thursday, 4/2 close at 4pm CT (normal close time on Thursday) - does not re-open for Friday, 4/3 trade day
  • Livestock: Thursday, 4/2 close at 1:05 pm CT (normal close time on Thursday) - does not re-open for Friday, 4/3 trade day
  • Crypto: Friday, 4/3 close at 10:15am CT

Futures markets observe certain U.S. federal holidays, during which trading hours may be shortened or markets may be fully closed.

Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • Presidents Day
  • Good Friday
  • Memorial Day
  • Juneteenth National Independence Day
  • Independence Day (Fourth of July)
