Concurrent Sessions Limit vs. Multiple Windows
Topstep Brokerage allows multiple windows or tabs within the same browser session, but it does not allow concurrent sessions on more than one device or browser instance at the same time.
Important
A concurrent session means being logged in on more than one device or browser at a time. If you log in from a new device, the platform will disconnect the other device. Multiple windows or tabs within the same single browser session are allowed.
What Is Allowed
- You can open multiple browser windows or tabs on the same device as long as they are part of the same browser session.
- This is useful for keeping different platform components open at the same time, such as chart, DOM, quotes, or other widgets.
- While Topstep Brokerage does not limit the number of windows, platform performance may vary based on your device's hardware capabilities.
How Multiple Windows Work
- Click the double-square button in the top-right corner of the platform to pop out additional windows.
- Once a new window or tab opens, you can maximize individual components by clicking the square icon in the top-right corner of that section.
What Is Not Allowed
- The platform can only be open on one device or browser instance at a time.
- If you are logged in on a PC, you cannot also have the platform open on your phone.
- You cannot have the platform open on multiple PCs at the same time.
- You cannot have the platform open in different browsers (ex. Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge) at the same time.
- If you try to log in on a new device, you will be disconnected from the previous one.
Why This Matters
This rule helps keep your trading session compliant while still giving you flexibility inside the platform.
Key things to remember:
- Multiple windows and tabs are allowed when they stay inside one browser session.
- Only one device or browser instance can be logged in at a time.
- Logging in on a second device will immediately disconnect your active session, which may prevent you from managing open positions during market volatility.
- If you want to monitor several parts of the platform at once, use multiple windows or tabs on the same device instead of trying to log in again elsewhere.
